By Benjamin Abioye

In an emotional interview, popular actress Jumoke George broke down as she shared her painful struggles with homelessness, poor health, and her missing 41-year-old daughter.
Nigerian actress Jumoke George has drawn widespread attention and sympathy after revealing the emotional and physical hardships she’s been silently enduring for years.
In a heartfelt interview with fellow actress Abiola Ayomide Adebayo, Jumoke disclosed that she had been without a home for over five years.
The veteran actress, known for her powerful performances in indigenous films, shared that her personal life has been filled with pain and uncertainty, especially after the mysterious disappearance of her 41-year-old daughter, who has been missing for four years. With tears in her eyes, Jumoke made a passionate plea: “Mothers all over the world, please pray for me.”
She expressed her frustration and confusion about her current situation, saying she has done everything within her faith and belief as a Christian. “I have exercised all my faith as a Christian and don’t know what to do with myself anymore,” she said.
Jumoke also mentioned that despite living a life of integrity, her reality has been filled with suffering and illness, adding that she feels undeserving of such a fate.
Moved by Jumoke’s voice message, Abiola Adebayo took immediate action. She visited Jumoke’s location along with her crew to better understand the situation. After the visit, Abiola shared a video clip of the interview and called on the public for support. She wrote: “I received a heart wrenching message from madam Jumoke George, recounting her painful and disheartening situation. The content of the voice note troubled my heart so much that I couldn’t wait any moment longer where I was, so I urgently moved myself and my crew to the place she is staying. After listening to her story, my heart cannot hold the pain.”
Abiola added a direct appeal for help, saying, “Madam Jumoke George desperately needs our help and I hope we will come through for her.” She also shared the actress’s account details for those willing to support financially.
The video and Jumoke’s story have sparked strong emotional reactions online. Many fans and colleagues expressed shock and sorrow, with some initially mistaking the footage for a film scene. Actress Omoborty commented, “Haaaaaaaaaa! Please give me her contact on WhatsApp, Biola.” Another user, nikki.stender_, wrote, “God abeg o. I even thought you people were shooting a movie. This woman is a very great actress. How can we be of assistance to her?”
Some expressed their own gratitude after hearing Jumoke’s story. A commenter named taymitawpehhh wrote, “Father forgive me for every time I complain. I am so unhappy. Lord, let adulthood be easy for us all.” Another follower, tosin.sho, added, “My goodness! Why did I think this was a movie scene at first?! This is so sad. She is such a good actress!”
Others reflected on the gap between social media appearances and real-life struggles. Juliet_soky said, “It is well… Truly, don’t believe what you see on social media. To think her Instagram account has been running well and nice pictures always uploaded, and she is burning inside. May God comfort you and make you happy again. Amen.”
One particularly heartfelt comment came from olaemail2015, who appealed to a popular philanthropist, saying, “@donjazzy Sir, just do yours as God leads you… I am a widow that needs help but seeing this woman, I felt like having money to give to her because she needs help more than myself… Her agony stirred something in me… uncontrollable tears flowing as I’m typing.”
Content creator iamtrinityguy emphasized the need for better support within the film industry: “Honestly, in this industry, we need to be checking up on each other. This mummy was homeless for some years and nobody knew. It’s so sad to see our legends facing these kinds of conditions.”
Jumoke George’s story has opened eyes, broken hearts, and stirred a call to action. Her story is a reminder that even the brightest stars can be fighting silent battles—and that compassion and support are more necessary than ever.
