Nollywood actress Mercy Johnson-Okojie appears to have responded to the recent wave of criticism over her weight loss — and she did it with grace, humor, and music.

In a video posted online, the award-winning mother of four was seen singing along to a popular song with lyrics that say, “Anything you do, they must talk.” Mercy Johnson, while mimicking the song’s message, seemed to indirectly address the backlash she has received in recent days regarding her weight loss.

Although Mercy did not call out anyone specifically, fans believe the post is her way of responding to the negative comments about her weight loss, particularly those from fellow actress Angela Okorie, who recently made harsh and unverified allegations about Mercy’s past while mocking her weight loss.

Angela had described Mercy as a “blood-sucking demon” who was “no longer feeding on blood,” while dismissing her slimmed-down figure as a gimmick tied to “slimming tea.” She also accused Mercy of destroying people’s homes and destinies and demanded a public apology, claiming that gospel songs could not redeem her alleged wrongdoings.

While Angela’s attack caused a stir online, Mercy’s calm and composed demeanor in her video has earned her praise from many fans who see her subtle response as both classy and mature.

As of now, Mercy Johnson has not issued any direct statement concerning the allegations, but her choice of music in the video has been widely interpreted as her way of brushing off the drama and moving forward with positivity.
