Pope Leo X Account

Pope Leo XIV has launched his official X account, sharing a message of peace that has drawn over 1.5 million views and sparked widespread excitement among social media users.

A new official account has been created on the social media platform X for Pope Leo XIV. This account marks his first public appearance on the platform since his election on May 8, 2025.

He became the new leader of the Catholic Church following the death of Pope Francis on April 21 at the age of 88.

On May 14, Pope Leo made his first post using the account, which already has more than 69,000 followers. The post quickly went viral, drawing over 1.5 million views in a short time.

In his first message, the Pope wrote:
“Peace be with you all! This is the first greeting spoken by the Risen Christ, the Good Shepherd. I would like this greeting of peace to resound in your hearts, in your families, and among all people, wherever they may be, in every nation and throughout the world.”

This message received widespread praise and excitement from people across the world. Many took to the comments to express their joy and share their hopes.

One user wrote: “We are all praying that the Church and all the peoples of the Earth flourish. It is a huge team with you as physical head of the Catholic Church but it is not too big for God’s inspiration to work through you. Best Wishes.”

Another said: “It was a privilege to be in St. Peter’s Square to hear you speak these words and receive your blessing. My family and I are praying for you daily.”

A third comment read: “Thank you, @Pontifex, for giving hope to millions Christians like myself amid this dark time. The good needs leadership and inspiration, not mediation with the evil. The world needs a clear moral line between light and darkness, not a sea of twilight.”

Others shared similar prayers and thoughts.
“Thank you Holy Father. We are praying for you. We need your courageous and clear teaching in these dark days. Thank you for your ‘yes’ and may the Holy Spirit empower you to speak boldly and persuasively,” one user added.

Another person shared:
“Thank you Holy Father, thank you for restoring hope to the Church after 12 years of pain! Praying for you daily (as I did for your predecessor).”

One message also encouraged the Pope to promote traditional practices:
“His Holiness. Please also promote the traditional liturgy, the Latin mass, so that the West may be just as prominent. May Jesus and Mary strengthen and bless them.”

Meanwhile, global leaders have expressed their joy over the Pope’s election. The President of the United States said Pope Leo’s rise is a great honor for his country and looked forward to meeting him. Nigeria’s President also shared his happiness, saying the Pope’s message of peace is already reaching people across the world.
