Nigerian actress and brand influencer Monalisa Stephen has sadly passed away after she has battled with low blood sugar and internal bleeding, her sister has confirmed.

Nigerian actress and social media influencer Monalisa Stephen has passed away after a short illness.

Her death was confirmed on Wednesday, May 14, 2025.

According to a public statement made by Seun Oloketuyi, Monalisa died on Tuesday, May 13, in Lagos. She had been battling low blood sugar and internal bleeding. The sad news was shared on Instagram by someone close to her, who also mentioned that her younger sister confirmed the passing.

The post read: “Brand influencer Monalisa Ayobami Stephen is dead, she died yesterday in Lagos after losing the fight against Low sugar and internal bleeding. Her immediate younger sister confirmed the death of this hardworking and beautiful soul.”

Meanwhile, another Nollywood veteran, Jumoke George, has revealed details of her personal struggles. In a video posted online on Tuesday, May 13, she opened up about being homeless for over five years and facing serious health and financial challenges.

Jumoke shared that her eldest son, Adeola, who turned 41 this May, has been missing for more than four years. Fighting back tears, she appealed to Nigerians for help and prayers, explaining that she now needs ₦400,000 for important tests on her brain and heart.
