Hope Is Coming: PDP Assures Delta Party Members After Oborevwori’s Defection

The Chief Dan Orbih led South-South executive of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has set machinery in process to address complaints from party members in Delta State arising from the defection of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori to the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Vowing that the PDP will be restored to its position of ascendancy in Delta State, the Orbih S/South exco in a statement made available to GWG.ng as such urged party stakeholders in Delta and across the South-South not to despair. It said that hope was on the way.
The statement signed by the zonal publicity secretary, Prince Etim Isong while assuring Delta PDP stakeholders that the Chief Dan Orbih led executive was on top of the situation, said:
“In light of recent political development in Delta State, the South South Zonal Working Committee of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), have received an overwhelming number of complaints from our esteemed stakeholders regarding the unexpected defection of the Governor of Delta State His Excellency Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, along with the entire structure of the Delta State PDP, to the All Progressive Congress (APC).
“We have noted the concerns this situation has raised among our loyal party members and supporters in Delta State, and we are carefully reviewing the situation with a view to addressing the situation. Our investigation is actively underway, as we are committed to understanding the circumstances that led to this unforeseen and development. For emphasis, the unity and strength of our party are of utmost importance, and we recognize the necessity for a decisive and strategic response.
“In the circumstance, I would like to assure all members of the PDP family in Delta State that the Chief Dan Osi Orbih led South South Zonal Working Committee is fully aware of the gravity of the situation in the State and fully dedicated to the task of rebuilding the party and repositioning it for future electoral victories in Delta State and across the South South Zone. I would like to further assure that the next meeting of the State South Zonal Working Committee will address the concerns raised by various stakeholders, and we will chart a course that ensures we regain our status as the ruling party in Delta State come 2027.
“We implore all members and supporters of our great Party, particularly in Delta State and across our zone, to remain united and steadfast. The commitment and loyalty of our grassroots supporters are invaluable as we navigate these turbulent times. Together, we will take the necessary steps to restore our party’s relevance and power in Delta State and across the rest of the states of the South South zone.”
