Asencio video

Real Madrid defender Raul Asencio is accused in a child-porn video case, with a court greenlighting a criminal trial over an explicit clip involving a minor.

The 22-year-old defender, along with three former teammates from the club’s youth system, has been investigated in connection with a child porn video that allegedly includes a minor.

The case stems from a child porn video reportedly recorded in June 2023. Prosecutors allege that the footage shows sexual activity involving an 18-year-old woman and a 16-year-old girl. The video is believed to have been filmed by three players — Ferran Ruiz, Andres Martin, and Juan Rodriguez — and later requested by Asencio. All four were between 20 and 21 years old at the time.

Authorities say the child porn video was shared via WhatsApp. According to the court’s findings, both young women involved have shown signs consistent with post-traumatic stress disorder. Investigators have informed them of their right to press charges.

If the alleged victims decide to press charges, or even if they do not, the prosecutor’s office may still move forward with formal legal action.

The court found enough evidence to support possible charges of violating privacy, distributing sexual content without consent, soliciting pornography involving a minor, and possession of child pornography related to the video.

Under Article 197 of Spain’s Criminal Code, recording and distributing explicit material involving a minor—such as this child porn video—can result in a prison sentence ranging from three-and-a-half to five years. If the recording was made without consent but does not involve a minor, the sentence could range from two-and-a-half to four years. If someone is found guilty only of distributing such content, the penalties may be less severe.

The case came to the authorities’ attention when the mother of the 16-year-old filed a complaint, saying her daughter had consented to the sexual activity but not to being recorded in the child porn video.

Following the complaint, police arrested all four players in 2023 and seized their phones. Earlier this year, Asencio tried to dismiss his involvement in the case, but the judge ruled the investigation should continue.

Asencio recently spoke publicly about the allegations after being called up to the Spanish national team for the first time.

“I think everyone is aware of what they are doing. For that reason, I am very calm,” he said in a TV interview. “So, well, live day by day. In the end, it’s a matter of deadlines. I have noticed this change of pressure on the pitches.”

He added: “It’s logical, with the change of category [after Spain call-up]. I’m a person who likes and is motivated by feeling that pressure. Since I was a kid, I’m used to feeling that pressure at Real Madrid. It makes me even more motivated.”

Asencio has made 22 appearances this season for Real Madrid. While it has been a breakthrough year for him personally, the club looks set to finish the season without winning a major trophy.
