New Updates Emerge On TikTok Influencer Gunned Down During Livestream

More information has emerged showing cartel boss “Doble R” has been identified as the suspect in the murder of beauty and TikTok influencer Valeria Marquez during her livestream.

A Mexican beauty influencer named Valeria Marquez, 23, was shot and killed during a livestream from her salon in Zapopan, Jalisco. The man suspected of murdering her was disguised as a delivery worker.

Reports claim Valeria had been in a relationship with a dangerous cartel member known as “Doble R,” who is linked to multiple violent crimes.

The newspaper ‘El Heraldo’ identified “Doble R” as the prime suspect. Sources say he was angry that Valeria received expensive gifts from fans online. He belongs to the Jalisco Nueva Generacion cartel, one of Mexico’s most dangerous criminal groups. He has a criminal history dating back to 2012, including the suspected murder of Venezuelan model Daisy Ferrer Arenas. He’s also believed to have ordered the killing of another influencer, Juan Luis Lagunas, who insulted a cartel leader in a video.

Just a few hours before she died, Valeria told her followers that someone wearing a mask had tried to deliver her a costly gift earlier that day. “Maybe they were going to kill me or something,” she said during the livestream.

She had previously spoken about threats she was receiving and even said her ex-boyfriend should be blamed “for anything that happens to me and my family.” In one of her final videos, Valeria talked about how she was trying to change her lifestyle. “I’ve changed. I don’t go out anymore, I don’t drink anymore, I’ve stopped being around thugs, I’m a good girl,” she said.

The moment of the attack was caught on camera. A gunman entered the salon, shot her once in the chest and twice in the head, and then fled. Valeria had built a large following on TikTok, where she shared beauty and lifestyle content with over 110,000 followers.

Authorities are treating her killing as a femicide, under Mexico’s protocol for gender-based crimes. Violence against women remains a major issue in the country, from verbal abuse to severe acts like acid attacks and murders.

Valeria’s death is part of a disturbing trend of social media influencers being targeted. In October, TikToker Juan Carlos Lopez was murdered while filming. In November, YouTuber Jesus Miguel Vivanco Garcia was found dead with 70 bullet wounds. A month later, Leobardo Aisputo Soto was gunned down while walking with his wife.

Her murder happened just days after another tragedy: a mayoral candidate named Yesenia Lara Gutierrez was shot dead during a campaign rally livestream. She was greeting people in Texistepec, Veracruz, when gunmen opened fire. Her daughter and two other supporters were also killed. “No office or position is worth a person’s life,” said Veracruz Governor Rocio Nahle in a press conference.

Yesenia had posted on Facebook shortly before her death, saying, “The strength of our youth is the vitality that motivates me to keep walking day by day.”

These brutal acts highlight how political candidates and public figures, especially women, are increasingly at risk in Mexico, where criminal organizations often target them to gain power in local governments.
