VeryDarkMan Accuses EFCC Of Intellectual Property Theft (Video)
By Gideon Ayeni

In a video shared on his social media, controversial social media critic Martins Vincent Otse, known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has leveled serious accusations against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), alleging that the agency attempted to steal his intellectual property.
The clip, which has gone viral, captures Verydarkman’s frustration and demand for accountability, as he recounts his recent interactions with the EFCC and calls for evidence to clear his name.
In the video, Verydarkman begins by recounting his last day in EFCC detention, where he was brought into a room for questioning. “They asked me different questions,” he says, detailing how he explained his idea to prevent scams between vendors and buyers, an app he had been developing. “I told them the blueprints of the idea,” he adds, emphasizing that the EFCC officials were surprised by the concept’s potential.
VDM alleges that after his release on bail, he was called back to the EFCC for further interrogation, where he learned of a petition against him by a woman claiming he stole her idea. “One woman wrote a petition against me that I stole her idea,” he states, his tone incredulous. He questions the timing and validity of the claim, arguing that if the woman had presented a similar idea to the EFCC in 2021, there should be recorded evidence. “Provide a video of that woman and again, how is it possible that they did not tell me that there was a petition against me?” he demands, calling for transparency.
The video captures VDM’s escalating frustration as he accuses the EFCC of planning to profit from his idea. “I feel you guys want to steal my idea and make money off it,” he asserts, his gestures emphasizing his point. He challenges the EFCC to present the woman’s idea and the petition, stating, “Invite me to your office and show me a petition, an idea.” His demand for proof is a central theme, as he vows to hold the agency accountable.
