Okoya Sons, Tompolo: Man Mocks EFCC (Video)
By Gideon Ayeni

A viral video making rounds on social media has gained outrage and debate, after a Nigerian man openly challenged the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), accusing the agency of selective justice in the enforcement of the law against naira abuse.
The footage, shared on X (formerly Twitter), showed the man defiantly calling out the EFCC over perceived selective perception of justice while standing on rocky terrain surrounded by grassy fields. In the video, he boldly dared the anti-graft agency to arrest him, claiming he was merely doing what other influential Nigerians allegedly got away with.
“EFCC, I am waiting for you people,” a text overlay in the video reads, as the man flashes wads of naira notes and marches on the currency, a move that directly contravenes Nigeria’s anti-mutilation laws. He then cites the agency’s silence on high-profile cases, alleging that the sons of billionaire businessman Razaq Okoya and former militant leader Government Ekpemupolo (Tompolo) had similarly desecrated the naira without facing consequences.
“I am Tompolo’s son. I am Okoya’s son.” he sarcastically added.
The video, edited with intercuts showing images of Tompolo and Okoya, appears to question the EFCC’s impartiality in enforcing anti-corruption laws, suggesting that only ordinary citizens face the brunt of the agency’s actions.

The man’s statements, though partly muffled in the video, are accompanied by subtitles that further emphasize his claim: “You guys only use your power against the poor.” His tone—both confrontational and mocking—has struck a nerve online.
Reactions to the video have been mixed. While some netizens hailed the man’s audacity and echoed his criticisms of the EFCC, others expressed concern that his actions could provoke legal backlash.
“He has a valid point. Selective justice is no justice,” one user wrote.
Another warned: “This could backfire. Playing with EFCC isn’t a game.”
