Tension erupted in the Orelope community of Kwara State after a man was allegedly caught attempting to kidnap children.

A now-viral video, shared on X (formerly Twitter), shows the suspect seated shirtless and wearing only black underwear, surrounded by an angry crowd. The visibly battered man appeared to have been subjected to mob justice before the video was recorded.

In the clip, the suspect is seen trying to explain himself, occasionally gesturing with his hands while responding to questions in Yoruba. When asked how many children he had previously abducted, he responded, “I can’t count them,” suggesting he had been involved in such acts for a long time. He also claimed to be from Osogbo in Osun State and mentioned a man named Fatai as his alleged boss.

The crowd, visibly incensed, continued to question him while demanding justice. The setting, a dusty open area, adds to the raw tension captured in the footage, with the suspect’s expressions oscillating between defiance and fatigue.

As the video continues to circulate online, many Nigerians have expressed outrage, calling for immediate police intervention and justice for the victims. However, as of the time of this report, it remains unclear whether the suspect has been handed over to the authorities as no official statement has yet been issued by the Kwara State Police Command.
