The immediate past state secretary of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Delta State, Otunba Nick Ovuakporie who dumped the party on the eve of the 2023 governorship election has returned to the party.

GWG.ng reports that Ovuakporie who was until then a reliable hand in the political machine of Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, 2023 Delta APC governorship candidate, upended permutations when he showed up at the final campaign rally of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and swore allegiance to the party and its candidate, Sheriff Oborevwori.

Ovuakporie who was one of those hyped as Omo-Agege’s houseboys by Olorogun Festus Keyamo on account of his role in maintaining the former Deputy President of the Senate’s grip of the APC in Delta, was subsequently appointed as Executive Assistant (Political) to Governor Oborevwori. Ovuakporie’s decision to return to the APC follows the defection of the governor and the PDP machine in Delta State.

In a statement sent to newsmen, he stressed, that his decision followed “deep reflection and his unwavering loyalty to the Governor in compliance with the unanimous decision of the State leadership to support the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“I have made the decision to formally rejoin the APC, of which I am a founding member and Immediate Past State Secretary as a show of my unflinching loyalty to Mr. Governor who he christened a ” Development Czar’.

“Politics is about absolute loyalty and today’s event is a demonstration of my unwavering loyalty to my Governor His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff F.O Oborevwori whose More Agenda Administration is about service, solutions, and results.

He stated this during his Oyede ward 09 enlarged APC meeting and welcome ceremony held at Oyede on Saturday the 17th of May, 2025 where he declared that there’s no vacancy at the Government House Asaba and Aso Rock Abuja in 2027.

The erstwhile APC party scribe described his return to the APC as a “homecoming,” and expressed renewed confidence in the APC’s leadership both at the State and Federal level, describing the Party as “a more viable platform that will bring Renewed Hope for More Deltans in line with the Governor’s More Agenda Policies “

GWG.ng reports that Ovuakporie was, however, mum on his possible engagement with Omo-Agege within the APC in Delta.
