Actor Under Fire For Telling Davido To Invest in Imade, Not Jewelry
By Benjamin Abioye

Nollywood actor Uche Maduagwu sparked backlash after urging Davido to stop spending on expensive jewelry and instead invest in his daughter Imade’s future and well-being.
Nollywood actor Uche Maduagwu has publicly criticized Nigerian music star Davido, urging him to invest more in his daughter Imade Adeleke rather than spending on expensive diamond jewelry.
Maduagwu questioned Davido’s alleged lavish lifestyle, referencing claims of the singer’s \$500,000 diamond teeth and \$2 million worth of jewelry.
In a series of posts, Maduagwu challenged Davido’s priorities, asking, “If you were truly that rich, why did you take my Sophia Sophia to court over money she requested when there was no money for your alleged diamond teeth?” He also pointed out the singer’s reported refusal to meet requests for his daughter’s accommodation and nanny expenses. “Davido claims my Sophia Sophia requested 5 million Naira annually for accommodation for Imade and herself, and 800 dollars monthly for a nanny. So, you can afford all this but not the little the mama of your pikin asked for? Can someone please explain this magic to me again?” Maduagwu questioned.
The actor’s comments quickly drew a range of reactions on social media. Some users criticized him sharply, questioning his right to comment on Davido’s personal finances and family matters. One user wrote, “You don’t have the right to tell a man how to run his family,” while another remarked, “Poor man dey advice rich man, life sha.”
Others dismissed Maduagwu’s intervention as attention-seeking or inappropriate. One user commented, “He should mind his business,” while another suggested, “This Uche guy needs psychological evaluation, he’s really not mentally stable.”
However, some responses reflected amusement or disbelief at Maduagwu’s persistent public critiques. “This man has started again,” one person tweeted, while another sarcastically said, “Wait, na the same God wey create me create this man?”
Despite the mixed reactions, the debate highlights the scrutiny public figures face over their private lives and how their spending choices can become subjects of public discussion.
