How Abike Dabiri Secured Return Of Jumoke George’s Daughter From Mali

Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa has facilitated the return of Nollywood actress Jumoke George’s daughter, Adeola, who was stuck in Mali for four years without valid documents.
Adeola, the daughter of Nollywood actress Jumoke George, is on her way back to Nigeria after spending four years stranded in Mali.
Her return became possible following the intervention of Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairperson of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM).
The situation came to light when Jumoke George, in a recent emotional interview, broke down as she spoke about her daughter’s disappearance, ongoing health issues, and homelessness. She pleaded with Nigerians to pray for her.
“Dear Nigerians, please pray for me. I have never ruined anyone’s life. I am tired, I can no longer bear it. I don’t have a home, I don’t have anything, and a child of mine is missing,” Jumoke cried.
She further revealed:
“My firstborn, Adeola, has been missing for the past four years. I have been sick since January 2nd. I have done several tests, and now I need to do tests on my brain and heart. It costs N400,000, and I don’t know where to get the money.”
After the interview went viral online, her colleague Biola Adebayo shared an update, stating that Adeola was in Mali but couldn’t return because she lacked valid travel documents. Biola then reached out to the Nigerian Embassy in Mali and escalated the case to Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, requesting support to bring Adeola home.
Acting swiftly, Dabiri-Erewa and NiDCOM worked closely with the embassy to ensure Adeola’s safe return. According to NiDCOM officials, all necessary travel arrangements were completed by Friday, May 16.
Although Adeola was initially expected to arrive in Nigeria on Sunday, the trip—being made by road—faced slight delays. She is now expected to arrive in Lagos today, Monday, May 19, where she will be received at NiDCOM’s Lagos office by Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa herself.
Her return marks a successful intervention by NiDCOM and a moment of relief for a mother who had lost hope.
