By Benjamin Abioye

Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State officially announced his plan to contest for the Nasarawa North senatorial seat in 2027 and has begun early preparations.
Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has officially announced his intention to run for the Nasarawa North senatorial seat in the 2027 general election.
The announcement was made on his behalf by Suleiman Musa Nagogo, the Director General of the Pension Bureau, during a meeting with stakeholders in Wamba Local Government Area.
Nagogo explained that he was sent by the governor with a specific message. He said, “I have been in Wamba with a crystal clear message from His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Nasarawa State, Engineer Abdullahi Sule, to simply introduce a very important subject matter to the people of my own home, Wamba Local Government Area. That important message is to inform them that he is desirous of contesting for the office of Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria come 2027.”
As part of the preparations for this political move, Governor Sule has put together a committee to plan and coordinate his campaign across the Nasarawa North senatorial district. However, Nagogo mentioned that the work is still at an early stage. “That committee is still a committee of work in progress because we have yet to reach any reasonable milestone in the process of executing this project,” he stated.
Nagogo emphasized the importance of Wamba in the party’s structure and called on the people to support Governor Sule’s senatorial ambition. “It is equally my duty to inform my own people way beforehand that in terms of capacity, in terms of the wherewithal, in terms of the in-depth knowledge and understanding of the politics of this senatorial district, Governor Abdullahi Sule is second to none,” he added.
In an earlier statement, Governor Sule had mentioned that after completing his tenure as governor, he plans to return to his previous trade in welding. He also reiterated the state government’s commitment to promoting vocational training, encouraging private investments, and supporting infrastructure development, including renewable energy initiatives.
