Iyabo Ojo dismissed claims that she runs the anonymous blog Gistlover, saying she was shocked by the accusation and would never post hurtful things about herself.

Veteran actress Iyabo Ojo has firmly denied claims suggesting she is linked to or owns the anonymous gossip blog, Gistlover.

These rumors have been circulating for some time, with some people speculating she was behind the controversial page.

In an interview with comedian AY, Iyabo addressed the accusation directly. She said, “Some people accused me of owning Gistlover. I was shocked when they said Iyabo Ojo is Gistlover. If I am, will I post about my life and also drag my daughter on Gistlover?”

She went on to explain that most of the information shared on the blog often comes from people close to the individuals being talked about. “One thing I found out about Gistlover is that it is the people close to you who take your information to Gistlover. Sometimes the information is wrong, but they still take it,” she said.

Iyabo also questioned the logic behind the claims, stating that if she truly owned the blog, it would make no sense for her to publish negative stories about herself or her daughter. “Is it for the money or fame? The rubbish that was written about me having threesomes and stuff, is for what reason? Why would I drag my own daughter and myself? To destroy my name and reputation?” she asked.

In another development, fellow actress Ronke Oshodi-Oke praised Iyabo Ojo for including her ex-husband in their daughter Priscilla’s wedding.

This came in contrast to gospel singer Tope Alabi, whose biological husband was absent at her daughter Ayomikun’s wedding earlier this year. Ayomikun was instead walked down the aisle by her stepfather.

Speaking in an interview, Ronke said, “I give kudos to Iyabo Ojo. When Priscilla and her brother were young, she always went everywhere with them. She is a devoted mother. I now respect her more when I saw Priscilla’s dad at the wedding. I also learnt a lesson from her.”

Ronke also urged people not to judge Tope Alabi harshly, suggesting that Ayomikun, who is 27, may have chosen not to have her biological father at the ceremony. “Don’t let us blame Tope Alabi for not allowing the father of her daughter to be present at her wedding. The girl is 27 years old, maybe she was the one who didn’t want to see her dad. She is an adult. If she really wanted her dad, she would have insisted to her mum,” she said. “I am sure Priscilla wanted her dad to be at the wedding, that was why you all saw him.”
