Ronaldo Messi World Cup

Cristiano Ronaldo expressed deep respect for Lionel Messi and revealed he will not join the upcoming Club World Cup, despite receiving several club offers.

Cristiano Ronaldo has shared his thoughts on his long-running football rivalry with Lionel Messi.

Speaking ahead of the UEFA Nations League final in Munich, he reflected on the respect they’ve always had for each other during their careers.

Ronaldo, who is now 40 and plays for Al Nassr, is still one of the highest-paid athletes in the world. He and Messi have dominated football for more than 15 years, winning a total of 13 Ballon d’Or awards between them.

“Of course, I have affection for Leo Messi. We’ve been on stage together for 15 years,” Ronaldo said. “I remember translating English for him at the Galas because he didn’t speak English well. He always treated me well and respected me.”

He made it clear that even though they competed fiercely on the pitch, their relationship was always built on mutual respect and professionalism.

In another interview, Ronaldo revealed that he has turned down multiple offers to play in the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup. He confirmed he won’t be taking part, even though clubs from different countries, including Saudi Arabia and Brazil, approached him.

“It’s almost decided that I will NOT take part in the FIFA Club World Cup despite receiving many invitations and proposals,” he said. “There have been talks, contacts… but you have to think about short, medium and long term.”

This statement also puts to rest rumors that he might be joining Al Hilal, another club in the Saudi league, just to play in the tournament.

Ronaldo also talked about his son, Cristiano Jr., and how people often say he looks similar to Spain’s young star, Lamine Yamal.

“My son and Lamine Yamal look very much alike — their skin colour, their hairstyle. They’re three years apart. I like Lamine Yamal a lot, and my son also admires him,” Ronaldo said.

Both Ronaldo and Yamal have been crucial to their national teams’ progress to the Nations League final. Ronaldo has been in top form in the Saudi league, while Yamal has had a successful season with Barcelona.

Now, all attention turns to the big match between Portugal and Spain at the Allianz Arena. Ronaldo is expected to lead his team in what could be one of his final appearances in a major international final.

Whether this is his last big tournament or just another highlight in a legendary career, Ronaldo’s influence on the game remains strong. He continues to inspire millions of fans and players around the world.
