Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen has once rejected a massive offer from Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal.

The 26-year-old Osimhen who just concluded an outstanding loan season at Galatasaray where he scored 37 goals and gave 8 assists, rejected the move to Al Hilal because he still wants to play in Europe, even though his next move is still uncertain.

Osimhen has been linked with big clubs such as Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester United, PSG, Real Madrid, and Juventus. However, none of these teams have made a solid move for him so far. Reports suggest that his high salary request—around €400,000 per week—could be one of the reasons.

Former Super Eagles media officer Colin Udoh shared his opinion online, saying Osimhen deserves more recognition from European clubs.
“European club football failed Osimhen. I dare anyone to list 10 of Europe’s best strikers right now without Osimhen. Scratch that, make it 5,” he wrote.

Another former Nigerian player, Brown Ideye, agreed with him but suggested there may be other factors stopping the clubs from signing him.
“I don’t think the top 5 clubs in Europe can’t pay €350k or €400k a week for a player like him, especially when players not on his level earn the same amount,” Ideye said.
“Had to be some other issue we all don’t know about for sure.”

Despite getting strong interest from the Middle East, Osimhen has now reportedly turned down a fifth offer from Al Hilal. A sports journalist reported that Al Hilal offered him €40 million per year, plus €5 million in bonuses.

“Victor Osimhen officially rejects Al Hilal’s 5th offer. He has decided not to move there no matter the money offered. Case closed,” the journalist wrote.
“Main priority is to stay back in Europe with a top Italian club very interested and other European clubs. He’s going to take his time.”

Adding to this, a well-known European transfer reporter confirmed that Osimhen declined Al Hilal’s latest proposal—even though Napoli, his parent club, had already agreed on a €75 million fee with the Saudi side.

“Victor Osimhen has rejected Al Hilal’s proposal. Despite agreement club to club with Napoli for €75 million fee, Osimhen says no to the Saudi Pro League club,” the reporter stated.

He also added that Galatasaray would love to keep him permanently, and the race for Osimhen is far from over.

Now, as the summer transfer window moves forward, Osimhen remains without a confirmed destination having rejected the move to Al Hilal. While he continues to push for a European future, no major club has made the first move—yet.
