How I Survived Potential Air Crash – Wike (Video)

A new video of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has stirred fresh focus on an audio tape on how he survived a potential plane crash.

The audio tape had drawn controversy as it brought another dimension to the macho image that Wike has brought to bear in his political exertions and his firm assertions on governance in the FCT where he has not spared the high and mighty in ensuring that accountability is brought to bear in land administration.

In the audio tape which some also thought to have been manipulated, Wike was seen praying and binding during an air emergency.

However, with the controversy of Wike as a prayer warrior yet to settle, a video tape of the minister confirming how he survived an air emergency emerged giving fillip to the earlier claim that Wike is after all like all humans subject to fear.

Giving testimony during a church meeting, Wike said:

“The plane carrying me and two of my friends lost one engine 15 minutes after takeoff. The pilot advised us to return to base.”

He went on to attribute their survival to the power of prayer, prompting widespread reactions from Nigerians online who are also seeing him as human.

The initial viral audio clip, which has been widely circulated, features what netizens believe to be Wike’s voice praying fervently—allegedly speaking in tongues as turbulence rocked the plane. The video became a hot topic of discussion, creating humor, concern, and political commentary.

As of press time, neither Wike nor his spokesperson has issued any clarification on the autenticity of Wike as a prayer warrior as portrayed in the earlier tape.
