How We Arrested Two Nigerians Caught Smoking Weed On Police Van — Nigerian Police (Video)
By Gideon Ayeni

The Delta State Police Command has arrested two men after a disturbing video emerged online showing them smoking what appeared to be marijuana while perched on top of a Nigeria Police patrol van, hurling vulgar insults at officers.
The suspects, identified as 34-year-old Patrick Junior Asini and 20-year-old Tega Ojo, were tracked down and arrested after the video gone viral on social media, particularly on X (formerly Twitter).
In the footage, one of the suspects was seen comfortably seated atop a police van with the markings “Nigeria Police Force Anti-Crime Patrol, Oghara Division,” smoking a rolled substance believed to be cannabis. A voice—believed to be from one of the men can be heard saying, “Tell them, f*** the cops, bro. Pass me some weed, man,” while flashing an obscene hand gesture at an officer in the distance.
The incident, reportedly filmed at a car wash, triggered an immediate response from the authorities. Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed the arrests via his official X.
“The two suspects, Patrick Junior Asini, aged 34, and Tega Ojo, aged 20, in the video, have been arrested,” Edafe announced. “The following exhibits were found in their possession.”
Among the items recovered were an army khaki uniform, green beret, face mask, axe, cutlass, six mobile phones, four laptops, substances suspected to be marijuana, weed crushers, and Rizla rolling papers—tools commonly linked with cannabis use.
