Kemi Olunloyo Under Attack Over Comment On Iyabo Ojo’s Mum’s Death
By Benjamin Abioye

Kemi Olunloyo’s claim about the death of Iyabo Ojo’s mother has triggered strong reactions of disapproval across social media platforms.
A claim by Kemi Olunloyo has sparked heated reactions on social media after she alleged that Iyabo Ojo’s mother, Victoria Fetuga, died from complications related to mental illness.
Victoria Fetuga, the mother of popular Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo, passed away in her sleep on November 21, 2020, at the age of 67. Although the family had maintained privacy around the cause of death, rumors had long circulated online alleging foul play over her death.
Breaking her silence, Kemi Olunloyo posted on Facebook that those rumors were false. She stated clearly that Iyabo’s mother suffered from paranoid schizophrenia and that her death was a result of this condition.
“Contrary to rumors that she sacrificed her mom for fame,” Olunloyo wrote, “Iyabo Ojo’s mother actually died of Paranoid Schizophrenia. She abused the 67-year-old woman to the end.”
The post caused an uproar online, with Nigerians flooding comment sections to express mixed reactions—ranging from support for Iyabo Ojo to strong criticism of Kemi Olunloyo herself.
Public Reactions:
Olu Ranti was blunt in her opinion: “Go for rehabilitation.”
Pretty Ajoke accused Kemi of being motivated by money or bitterness: “You need money badly, Ebina. Or maybe you need money for your father’s burial. Kemi Olunloyo!! The black sheep of the family. Go and face your autistic children.”
Bola Ishola came to Iyabo’s defense passionately: “We love her to bits like that. Nothing you say will make us stop loving Queen Mother. She is a blessing to motherhood, womanhood, and humanity. Jealousy is a terrible disease.”
Akingbade OluBlessing Blessy urged Kemi to show compassion: “Madam, go rest small. Don’t let someone’s downfall be your joy. Remember the last day.”
Prince Marvin’s Mario supported Iyabo’s silence: “I like how Madam Iyabo is ignoring your ranting. Your own is getting out of hand, madam.”
Iwanger Iwanger Iwange had a different perspective: “If it was Gistlover now, everyone would say ‘ride on.’ Kemi is also a blogger. Let her breathe, abeg. She no dey give fake gist. Me, I’m liking this.”
Fatimoh Oluwatoyin found it entertaining: “I’ve been quiet for days, just reading comments. Omo, it’s beginning to make sense today. Make I adjust my chair for vawulence weekend.”
Adewale Alayo warned Kemi to tread carefully: “Madam, be very careful with Iyabo and family matter before it’s too late. You’re not the only investigative journalist in Nigeria. Relax and let God save you.”
Daniel Onaja viewed it from a journalist’s angle: “Boom! Shots fired! Bloggers with facts are more dangerous than a snake’s venom. They will use facts to uncover your deadly secrets and frustrate you.”
Coolant Mac added: “My own be say we listen and we don’t judge. But what I know is that I subscribe to vawulence. Peace is never an option here.”
Achuo Emilyy compared this issue to Kemi’s past controversies: “Nothing different. Just repetition. Similar to what you are doing to Davido.”
Lizzy Ihechi gave a humorous twist: “My first time travelling by air was from my neighbour’s mango tree to the ground. And it was very fast.”
The controversy continues to trend online as Nigerians remain divided between defending Iyabo Ojo and questioning Kemi Olunloyo’s intentions. For now, Iyabo Ojo has not responded publicly to the latest allegations.
