Former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has praised Air Peace for its professionalism and consistency on the Lagos–London route, just days after Senator Adams Oshiomhole publicly criticized the airline over a travel disruption.

In a post shared on social media, Peter Obi revealed that he had just arrived in the United Kingdom via an Air Peace flight from Lagos. He stated that this marked nearly a dozen trips he has made using the airline on the same route.

“I want to sincerely thank the management and staff of Air Peace for their professionalism, consistency, and competence,” Obi said.

His remarks come on the heels of a recent controversy involving Senator Oshiomhole, who lamented being unable to travel with Air Peace due to what he described as poor scheduling and communication. The incident stirred debates online, with critics questioning the airline’s reliability.

In sharp contrast, Obi used his platform to call on Nigerian elites and political leaders to support indigenous businesses rather than tear them down.

“It is never easy to run any business in our difficult environment, let alone highly capital-intensive sectors like air and land transportation,” Obi wrote. “Nigerian businesses need our encouragement and patronage, not harassment or unnecessary intimidation.”

He stressed that supporting local enterprises—particularly those that create jobs—is essential for economic growth and national development.

Concluding his message of endorsement of Air Peace, with his signature optimism, Peter Obi reaffirmed his vision for the country: “A new Nigeria is POssible.”
