Video: “You Are Unfortunate” – Iyabo Ojo Fires Back At Kemi Olunloyo’s Accusations

Iyabo Ojo fired back at Kemi Olunloyo in a viral video, denying ties to Gistlover and slamming her over cruel claims about her mother’s death and past jail term.

Nigerian actress Iyabo Ojo has responded in strong terms to investigative journalist Kemi Olunloyo’s recent claims that she is the person behind the controversial and anonymous blog, Gistlover — as well as allegations concerning the circumstances surrounding her late mother’s passing.

In a fiery Instagram Live video that has since gone viral, the actress denied the accusations and lashed out at Olunloyo, calling her “unfortunate” and vowing never to show her respect again.

According to Ojo, she would no longer refer to Kemi Olunloyo as “Aunty,” saying: “Nobody likes you. I have removed ‘Aunty’ from your name. You’re now Kem Kem, and soon, you will become Kem because you behave like a useless elder.”

She went further to invoke a series of curses in Yoruba, directed either at herself or Olunloyo—depending on the truth behind the allegations.

“You are an unfortunate person. If I am truly the one behind the blog Gistlover, may all the curses you laid on me come to pass, but if not, it shall never be well with you and your children, Kemi.”

Iyabo Ojo stressed that she had no ties to Gistlover and said that if she was truly innocent—as she claimed—then the curses Olunloyo placed on her and her children should instead fall upon Olunloyo and her lineage.

She added that if Kemi knew how well she took care of her own mother before she passed, she wouldn’t be quick to curse another woman’s child: “If you received even one-third of the care I gave my mother while she was alive, your life wouldn’t be the way it is today. Someone like you should not be cursing me.”

The actress didn’t stop there. She addressed another accusation from Olunloyo regarding her alleged involvement in Kemi Olunloyo’s past incarceration, stating:

“If I truly know anything about how you were jailed, then let your curses stand. But if I don’t know anything about it, let every single curse return to you, Kemi.”

The internet quickly erupted with reactions, with many users applauding Iyabo Ojo for confronting the allegations head-on.
