The death of Tessy discovered in the Abuja hotel room was captured in a disturbing video now circulating online. Police authorities confirmed the development on Wednesday, stating that the Commissioner of Police, CP Ajao Saka Adewale, has ordered a discreet but thorough probe into the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death.

According to preliminary police findings, the deceased identified as Aladi Offikwu Johnson, popularly known as Tessy and a native of Benue State had checked into the hotel located on 3rd Avenue, Gwarinpa, FCT Abuja on June 16, 2025. Hotel staff reportedly discovered Tessy unconscious during routine checks and promptly alerted authorities. She was confirmed dead upon medical evaluation.

In a statement issued by the FCT Police spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, the Command urged the public to remain calm while assuring that all leads are being pursued to identify and apprehend those responsible.

CP Adewale also used the opportunity to issue a safety advisory, especially to young women. He stressed the importance of exercising caution in interactions with unfamiliar individuals and encouraged citizens to always share their whereabouts with trusted friends or family for personal security.

The police chief further called on hoteliers to improve internal safety protocols including strict identity verification of guests and the use of functional surveillance systems to support investigations and deter crime.

The Command extended its condolences to Tessy’s family and reiterated its commitment to ensuring justice is served.
