Aondona sextortion suspended

Benue Governor’s aide, Dr. Mkor Aondona, was arrested by the EFCC over s£xtortion and blackmail allegations by several female students.

Officials from the Makurdi office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested Dr Mkor Aondona, who works as a Special Adviser to the Benue State Governor. He was taken into custody over claims of s£xual misconduct and online harassment.

The arrest happened on Friday, June 20, after several female students filed a formal complaint. In their petition, they accused Dr. Aondona of abusing his government role by selecting slim and attractive female students for ushering jobs, but then demanding s£x in exchange for those roles.

The students said they thought the jobs were real and honest. However, they later found out that Dr. Aondona had secretly recorded their private moments without their knowledge. One student told investigators, “He would say, ‘If you refuse, I’ll leak the videos.’”

They also claimed he used the recordings to threaten them if they didn’t continue giving in to his demands. In some cases, the victims said that the videos were already being shared through different messaging apps.

“Some of the videos are already in circulation,” the students warned, expressing fear for their privacy and mental well-being.

The EFCC confirmed the arrest and said the suspect will be charged in court once the investigation is complete. A spokesperson for the agency stated, “We take allegations of s£xtortion very seriously and will ensure that justice is served.”

At the moment, Dr. Aondona remains in EFCC custody as they prepare to take him to court.
