NAPTIP Has No Right to Declare Me Wanted – Speed Darlington
By Benjamin Abioye

Speed Darlington has reacted to NAPTIP’s wanted notice, claiming the agency has no authority to label him wanted for alleged rape and cybercrimes.
Controversial Nigerian singer Darlington Okoye, also known as Speed Darlington, has said that the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) does not have the right to declare him wanted.
The federal government, through NAPTIP, named him wanted over allegations including rape, cyberbullying, and cyberstalking.
The agency announced this on Friday through its official Instagram account. The statement read, “WANTED BY NAPTIP. Darlington Okoye, aka Speed Darlington, is wanted in connection with alleged offences including rape, cyberbullying, and cyberstalking. Anyone with credible information on his whereabouts is urged to contact NAPTIP immediately. Call: 07030000203, info@naptip.gov.ng.”
Earlier, NAPTIP had invited the singer for questioning after he reportedly admitted in a live Instagram video to having sex with a 15-year-old girl. However, he did not respond to their invitation.
In an interview with Saturday Beats, Speed Darlington said he is not worried about the news that NAPTIP had declared him wanted and insisted that his lawyer would handle the matter. He stated, “Thanks for the heads up, but I’m not worried. They have no right to declare me wanted. My lawyer has already sent it (the ‘wanted’ posted) to me. They just want to embarrass themselves. My lawyer will handle it.”
