Pi Network Introduces New AI Tools And App Creation Features On Pi2Day 2025
By Benjamin Abioye

New AI tools, staking features, and system upgrades mark Pi2Day 2025 as Pi Network pushes to boost global app creation and community utility.
To celebrate Pi2Day 2025, Pi Network has launched two big features. First is a platform for building AI apps. This is meant to help solve global problems using both AI and blockchain, and to allow more people to take part in the Pi ecosystem by creating or supporting useful apps. Second is a new staking system that lets users support Pi apps directly with their Pi coins.
Alongside these launches, Pi released new updates and announced the Pi2Day Ecosystem Challenge, which lets users try out the new tools and earn digital rewards.
Earlier this week, Pi asked the community: “How is GenAI related to Pi Network?” In response, Pi explained how the world is facing big questions about AI, like how to use it in real life, how it affects jobs, and how to fairly share its benefits. Pi believes AI and blockchain can work together to solve these problems. It says blockchain can make sure the rewards from AI work are shared fairly among real people—not just machines or big companies.
To make this work, Pi says a few things are needed: confirming people are real (not AI bots), easy ways to build real apps using AI, a strong network to spread those apps, and a system to make sure real humans benefit. Pi believes it already has these parts in place. For example, over 13.7 million people have verified their identity through Pi’s KYC system. Also, Pi has a global social network of over 60 million users.
Pi has now released Pi App Studio, a tool that lets people create AI-powered apps easily. “You don’t have to be an engineer,” Pi said. “We want creators to turn their ideas into apps that people can use.” The tool also connects with other Pi products like the Pi Ad Network, .pi Domains, and Pi Wallet, to help creators build and grow their apps.
Pi App Studio works in a guided way, helping people step-by-step. “Just having tools isn’t enough. People need guidance to create good things,” Pi explained. For example, if someone who doesn’t know how to paint is given a brush and canvas, they still need some help to make a painting. Pi App Studio offers that kind of help for app creation.
The studio lets creators test their apps with real users, collect feedback, and improve. These updates can be done without coding. “The better an app performs, the more likely people will use it,” Pi said.
Creators can also make money from their apps using Pi’s tools, like advertising and custom domain names. Pi App Studio encourages users to build apps around their own knowledge, using AI and blockchain.
There are two main options in Pi App Studio. One helps people build topic-specific chatbots that reflect their knowledge. “Generic chatbots give answers, but personalized ones give better experiences,” Pi said. These bots can be turned into quizzes, guides, and other tools—not just chat windows.
The second option is an open platform (still in Beta) that lets users create any app they imagine just by typing in regular language—no coding needed. “This version is still being improved, and access may be limited for now,” Pi added.
Once an app is finished, Pi App Studio helps users publish it on the Pi network. Creators can also use Fireside Forum and Pi Chats to promote their apps.
Another new feature is Ecosystem Directory Staking. This tool lets users support their favorite apps by staking Pi tokens on them, helping those apps rank higher in the Pi ecosystem. This approach aims to reward quality apps and reduce control by big companies or algorithms. “It’s a new way to show support and spread influence in the network,” Pi said.
Also, Pi Wallet now supports Onramper, a verified third-party tool that helps people buy Pi using local services, depending on regional rules.
Pi also announced updates to its desktop app, now called Pi Desktop. It combines the Node and mining functions and supports new features like Pi App Studio. It also allows resizing and shows public keys for Node users.
The Node ranking page is also live. It lists the top 5,000 Pi Nodes by performance and updates daily.
More good news: Pi has unblocked over 500,000 more users for Mainnet migration by fixing issues with KYC in certain areas. In total, more than 3 million users have migrated since the Open Network launched.
pi Domains—used for Pi-based apps—will now be available for bidding until September 30, 2025, to give creators more time to build apps using Pi App Studio.
Lastly, the Pi2Day Ecosystem Challenge will run from June 27 to July 7, giving users a fun way to explore the new tools and win digital rewards.
