How David Mark, Aregbesola Emerged Leaders Of Opposition Coalition, ADC

Senator David Mark late on Tuesday emerged as the protem national chairman of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, the platform that was adopted by opposition leaders in the country to frontally challenge the President Bola Tinubu led ruling All Progressives Congress, APC in the country.

Mark, a former president of the Senate is to work with the APC’s Rauf Aregbesola, who will serve as secretary while former APC publicity secretary and veteran journalist, Bolaji Abdullahi will serve as publicity secretary of the re-engineered ADC.

GWG.ng reports that the meeting of opposition elements in the Apo Legislative Quarters in Abuja was graced by some of the leading critical elements in the country drawn from all political tendencies including the APC, PDP and Labour Party. Among those present were Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, Abubakar Malami and shockingly one time Tinubu associate, Kashim Imam who one source at the gathering confided in GWG.ng served as about the rallying factor for the meeting.

Also present were former APC chiefs Rotimi Amaechi, Nasir El-Rufai, former APC national chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, former Governor Liyel Imoke, former Governor Aminu Tambuwal among many others.

While the meeting progressed with David Mark presiding when it came to the election of protem officers, the former Senate President stepped aside as Atiku Abubakar took over given that he, Mark had been nominated.

Under Atiku’s guidance, David Mark and other officers were elected by the gathering to lead the ADC.
