Aunt of late Nigerian singer Mohbad has broken her silence in a heartbreaking video interview, shedding light on what she witnessed the day her nephew died.

Speaking to popular online personality VeryDarkMan (VDM), the grieving aunt shared her painful experience and called for justice.

According to her, Mohbad appeared fine before an injection was given to him in the house. “They gave him injection in the house, and he was okay. I asked them what they gave him, but nobody can explain,” she said, visibly emotional.

She expressed frustration that no one has been able to clearly explain what happened, especially after he was taken to the hospital. “He was rushed to the hospital, yet we don’t know what exactly happened. I keep asking: who authorized that injection?”

The singer, whose real name was Ilerioluwa Aloba, died on September 12, 2023, in circumstances that remain controversial and unclear.

During the emotional interview, the aunt also described disturbing things she saw at Mohbad’s residence that day. She said she found a bloody singlet and blanket, which startled her. “There was a bloody singlet and blanket. My sister was already washing the singlet. The blood on it was a lot,” she recounted. This claim lines up with what Mohbad’s father had earlier said in a separate interview.

Adding to the mystery, she revealed that Mohbad’s wife, Wunmi, was more focused on getting the singer’s phone shortly after his death. “She fought for his phone that day. I kept wondering—why would a woman who just lost her husband be fighting over a phone?” she said.

She also mentioned that one of Mohbad’s friends tried to stop his mother from filming the condition of the house. She claimed there was a history of arguments between Mohbad and his wife. “She’s always rude. They were always fighting,” she alleged.

Mohbad’s aunt thanked Nigerians who have supported the family since the tragedy. “I just want justice for my family. My son was full of life, happy—why would somebody cut his life short like that?” she asked. “I thank everyone praying, supporting us during this time. But prayers alone won’t bring justice.”

The controversy deepened after the hospital where Mohbad was taken claimed he was already dead on arrival—contradicting his wife’s earlier claim that he was still breathing when they got there.

VDM, who has spoken with several people close to Mohbad, including his father and friends, said the accounts from those around the singer have been inconsistent. The singer’s sudden death has continued to cause public outrage, with fans and celebrities demanding a proper investigation.
