Olamide Shuts Down TikTok Critic With Smart Response
By Benjamin Abioye
Popular Nigerian rapper Olamide responded to a social media user who poked fun at him for being active on TikTok.
The comment came from a fan who joked, “You don become TikToker like this lol,” implying that the YBNL boss was spending too much time on the platform.
Not one to ignore sly remarks, Olamide clapped back with a short but meaningful reply:
“If you get business no promote am big boy!”
The exchange happened on X (formerly Twitter) and quickly got people talking. Many fans applauded Olamide for using the moment to deliver a subtle message about the importance of promoting one’s hustle.
Some users pointed out that his comeback wasn’t just clever—it also reflected a real truth in today’s entertainment world: social media is now a key tool for staying relevant and pushing content.
In recent times, artists like Davido, Burna Boy, and Asake have embraced TikTok to build excitement around their music, using the app to share snippets and engage directly with fans.
Olamide, who has a strong online presence with over 11 million followers on Instagram, is also said to be working on a new album. The project is expected later this year, following the success of his 2023 collaboration, Unruly, with Fireboy DML.
