Real Story Of How I Was Stripped Naked Over ‘Stolen’ Keke – Portable (Video)
By Benjamin Abioye
Nigerian street-pop artist Habeeb Olalomi Badmus, popularly known as Portable, has reacted to accusations leveled against him by social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, widely known as Verydarkman, with a video collage that quickly ignited a wave of reactions online.
The latest round of online drama began after Verydarkman made claims about Portable’s past, accusing him of stealing a phone and a tricycle. The accusations came in the wake of Portable’s vocal support for President Bola Tinubu, which the activist found objectionable. In response, Portable released a lengthy visual rant in which he launched into a tirade against Verydarkman, dismissing the allegations and issuing scathing criticisms.
In the video, Portable defended himself, alleging that the people who claimed he stole from them were affiliated with his former record label boss. According to him, the phone in question was given to him during his time under the label, and he refused to return it because of the sensitive crypto wallets and personal accounts tied to it. He insisted that the dispute had already been resolved and maintained that the allegations were unfounded.
He further revealed that the accusation of tricycle theft was fabricated in an attempt to disgrace him. Portable claimed he was set up by individuals connected to his former boss, forcibly stripped naked during the ordeal, and falsely branded a thief. Despite the humiliation, he stated that he is now on good terms with the former boss who allegedly orchestrated the incident, suggesting they have since reconciled.
Portable also took the opportunity to position himself as a representative of the streets, claiming that his influence had led to government intervention in his neighborhood. He boasted about getting a road fixed near his home, saying it was a direct result of his appeal to the state governor.
The video, however, has divided social media users. While some applauded him for standing up for himself, others accused him of chasing clout and dragging an already stale issue back into the spotlight.
User @defi_DVM remarked that Portable was simply seeking attention, while @sasmanic advised VDM to ignore him altogether. Others, such as @AdexxyArt, couldn’t help but laugh at the entire situation. “Justice for me ni o,” he joked.
Still, others questioned Portable’s credibility. “You be voice of the street ke? Street way wan chop your father,” mocked @akandeisraael. Meanwhile, @realjudon found the effort behind the video excessive, writing, “Imagine yourself making all these slides just for VDM.”
A few tried to offer a balanced take. User @dinobest101 acknowledged Portable’s strategic timing, noting that he used the moment to set the record straight without veering off point. “He knows VDM has the platform,” he wrote, “and he took the opportunity.”
However, some users were harsher. @alhajitungaa commented, “Armed robber you no go relax?” and @sir_aay cut straight to the point, asking, “You stole Maruwa or not?”
In a more humorous suggestion, @ragnar_richie01 proposed settling things with a physical showdown: “Abi make we set ring for Portable and VDM? I wan check something.”
Adding more spice to the conversation:
@Brizznation said: “Both of them need to enter Big Brother house. Na there we go solve this matter once and for all.”
@queenoflagos wrote: “VDM vs Portable is the fight I didn’t know I needed. But Portable sef, this one pass cruise.”
@kachi_codes tweeted: “Na this kind drama dey make me regret subscribing. My head dey pain me.”
@djflexygram posted: “Portable for president of online wahala. Every week, new episode.”
@faayofaa noted: “Honestly, the stripping part is wild. If na true, that’s trauma. But this guy talks like it’s cruise.”
The two controversial figures have clashed multiple times in the past. Just months ago, Verydarkman had accused Portable of assaulting someone during Felabration, a claim that added to their already volatile relationship.
As things stand, social media remains the battlefield for their ongoing feud, with fans and critics taking sides and fanning the flames. Whether this latest round will lead to a resolution or more back-and-forth remains to be seen. For now, the drama continues to unfold, one video at a time.
