Uzamere Resigns From PDP, Says Politics Must Remain Without Bitterness
By Benjamin Abioye
Former Senator Ehigie Uzamere has officially resigned his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), citing the need to pursue his political ideals on a platform that aligns more closely with his vision of service.
In a resignation letter dated October 7, 2025, and addressed to the Ward 12 Chairman in Iguoshodin, Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State, Uzamere explained that his decision was guided by conviction rather than animosity.
“Politics, at its best, is a vehicle for service and representation. A means through which leaders express their commitment to the welfare of the people,” the letter partly read.
According to him, the evolving nature of Nigeria’s political landscape has made it necessary for him to seek a new platform through which he can effectively continue serving his people.
The former lawmaker stressed that his philosophy of Aiguiyekampe — politics without bitterness — will continue to guide his steps.
“My decision is driven by conviction, not animosity, and by a continued commitment to the service of our people,” he wrote.
While announcing his resignation, Uzamere expressed gratitude to the PDP for the opportunities and experiences the party provided him over the years.
