Prominent American Missionary Accuses Reno Omokri Of Lies, Manipulation
By Gideon Ayeni
American missionary and activist, Mike Arnold, has stirred controversy online after publicly accusing Nigerian author and political commentator, Reno Omokri, of being a “habitual liar” and a “cold manipulator.”
In a lengthy post shared on X (formerly Twitter), Arnold claimed to have witnessed Omokri’s alleged deceptive behavior firsthand during their encounters in Kenya, Texas, and Abuja. He described Omokri as someone who hides behind charm and eloquence while engaging in constant deceit.
“Reno doesn’t lie like most liars. He lies calm, cool, constant. Up close, he’s reptilian. Chilling. Soulless. Yet so charming,” Arnold wrote.
He accused Omokri of once posting a video flaunting luxury cars that didn’t belong to him, saying two of the vehicles were owned by his (Arnold’s) friend. Arnold further alleged that Omokri fabricated high-profile political connections and made false promises about arranging meetings with top Nigerian officials, including President Bola Tinubu, National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, and the Sultan of Sokoto, during a recent trip to Nigeria.
Arnold also claimed Omokri had exaggerated his (Arnold’s) profile by falsely introducing him as the mayor of Blanco, Texas, and a close friend of U.S. Senator Ted Cruz. “He knows I’m not the mayor. I haven’t been active in any political party for 30 years,” Arnold stated.
He went on to describe various instances where Omokri allegedly manipulated people for clout, including staging publicity events, making misleading introductions, and taking credit for projects he did not organize or fund.
“How do you know if Reno Omokri is lying? His lips are moving,” Arnold wrote, adding that his decision to speak out was not out of bitterness but a call for accountability.
Citing Psalm 101:7 to emphasize the moral weight of truthfulness, Arnold accused Omokri of “gaslighting a nation” and “denying genocide” against Christians in Nigeria.
He likened Omokri’s alleged deceit to that of Nazi propagandist Joseph Goebbels, writing, “If he doesn’t repent, Omokri will go down as Nigeria’s Joseph Goebbels, cast into the lake of eternal fire.”
Arnold concluded his post with a scathing remark, claiming Omokri’s ultimate political ambition was to run as vice president under Nuhu Ribadu, calling him “a narcissistic peacock” who would “poll lower than Peter Obi’s used toilet paper.”

As of press time, Reno Omokri has not publicly responded to the allegations.
