Kidnapped Edo Girl, Aisha Wahab Freed After ₦20m Ransom (Video)

After several days of fear and uncertainty, Aisha Wahab, who was abducted by gunmen in Auchi, Edo State, has finally regained her freedom following the payment of a ₦20 million ransom.
Aisha was kidnapped on October 18, 2025, by unidentified assailants who later released several disturbing videos threatening to kill her if the ransom was not paid. The chilling clips went viral on social media, prompting Nigerians to rally in support.
Human rights activist Harrison Gwamnishu reportedly spearheaded an online campaign to raise the funds, calling for public donations to help secure her release. The effort paid off, as Aisha was freed on October 24, 2025, after the kidnappers confirmed receipt of the full ransom.
A viral video making the rounds on social media captured the emotional moment Aisha was reunited with her mother, who embraced her daughter tightly.

As of press time, the Edo State Police Command has yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident, and no arrests have been made.
Many Nigerians have taken to social media to celebrate Aisha’s safe return while calling on authorities to intensify efforts in tackling the rising insecurity that has made many live in constant fear.
