The game between the Barcelona and African Legends, organised by Zahra Buhari-Indimi’s ZMB Homes Foundation in partnership with the Attom Foundation, drew a capacity crowd eager to see some of the sport’s biggest names grace the pitch once again.

The Barça Legends, featuring former stars like Nolito, Roberto Trashorras, Roger Garcia, and Juliano Belletti, showed flashes of the tiki-taka brilliance that defined the club’s golden era. Trashorras opened the scoring with a cool finish before Nolito doubled the advantage midway through the first half.

The African Legends, captained by Nigeria’s Austin “Jay-Jay” Okocha and also featuring Nwankwo Kanu, El-Hadji Diouf, Mark Fish, and Essam El-Hadary, pulled one back after halftime through Diouf, but Barcelona soon restored their two-goal cushion when Roger fired home to make it 3-1.

An early penalty miss by the African side — brilliantly saved by Barça keeper Jesús Angoy — set the tone for an evening of thrilling but friendly competition.

The charity match was aimed at raising funds for widows, orphans, and underprivileged families under the ZMB Homes Foundation initiative.

Spectators, including top government officials, celebrities, and football enthusiasts, cheered both teams for putting on a spectacular show of skill and sportsmanship.
