By Gideon Ayeni
It was a proud Yoruba moment as Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, melted hearts after prostrating fully before the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, during a recent visit to the monarch’s palace.
In a video making rounds on social media, the governor was seen going down flat in total respect to the revered traditional ruler. A gesture many described as a mark of true Yoruba culture. The Ooni, known for his humility, made an effort to stop him, but Adeleke went all the way, earning cheers from those present.
To the delight of everyone in the palace, the governor, popularly known as “the dancing governor,” went on to entertain the Ooni and his guests with a short musical performance, singing beautiful Christian songs that got many echoing along in chorus.
