Governor Charles Soludo has taken a swipe at the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Anambra, Nicholas Ukachukwu, after a video of his recent TV interview sparked ridicule online.

The controversy began after Ukachukwu appeared on TVC, where he was asked about the issue of “baby factories” — a term used to describe illegal operations where young girls are trafficked and forced to bear children for sale. However, the APC candidate appeared to misunderstand the question, responding as though the interviewer was referring to manufacturing plants.

His awkward response quickly went viral, triggering a wave of mockery and disbelief from viewers who questioned his grasp of key issues affecting the state.

Reacting during an APGA campaign rally on Thursday, Governor Soludo couldn’t resist taking a jab at his opponent.

“Who advised him to go on national TV to disgrace himself?” Soludo said, drawing laughter from the crowd.

The governor’s comment added fuel to an already trending discussion online, with many netizens expressing concern about the candidate’s preparedness ahead of the November 8, 2025, Anambra governorship election.
