English Premier League Matchday 10 Fixtures, Kickoff Time, Predictions
By Benjamin Abioye
Arsenal legend Paul Merson has shared his predictions for Premier League matchday 10, saying his former club will continue their strong run and move even closer to the league trophy.
This weekend’s games are expected to bring excitement. Tottenham will play Chelsea in a major London clash, while Liverpool will welcome Aston Villa in a tough match. Arsenal will travel to Burnley hoping to stay unbeaten, and Manchester United will play Nottingham Forest away from home.
Manchester City will face Bournemouth on Sunday, and Newcastle will meet West Ham.
Based on his predictions, Merson expects the following results:
Crystal Palace 2-1 Brentford
Nottingham Forest 1-1 Manchester United
Burnley 0-2 Arsenal
Brighton & Hove Albion 2-0 Leeds United
Fulham 2-0 Wolves
Tottenham Hotspur 1-2 Chelsea
Liverpool 1-1 Aston Villa
West Ham United 1-3 Newcastle United
Manchester City 2-1 Bournemouth
Sunderland 2-1 Everton
Merson also said he believes the title might be decided earlier than people think.
“I said on 19th September that if Arsenal get four points out of their games against Manchester City and Newcastle United, they win the league,” Merson told Sportskeeda. “Arsenal did it and I stand by what I said. In fact, the title race could be done and dusted in the next two weeks!”
He also added, “They face Burnley and Sunderland before the international break, while Liverpool have Aston Villa and Manchester City. I expect Arsenal to win both those games and I’m not backing Liverpool to win this weekend. If City and Liverpool then take points off each other in gameweek 11, I think Arsenal will win the league quite comfortably.”
Arsenal are four points ahead at the top after winning seven of their first nine Premier League matches. They also have a strong defense, letting in only three goals in 14 games in all competitions.
