Nollywood actress Peju Ogunmola has spoken publicly for the first time since the heartbreaking loss of her only son, Ayomikun, announcing her emotional return to the movie industry.

In September, the veteran actress lost her son after a brief illness in Ibadan, a development the family confirmed through spokesperson Yemi Amodu, who dismissed rumours of any other cause and revealed he had since been buried.

As a new month begins, Peju took to her Instagram page in an emotional video on Saturday, reflecting on grief, healing, and gratitude while revealing her decision to return to work.

“A new month, a new dawn.
The past months have been heavy, but your love, prayers, and condolences have carried me through the storm.
Today I rise, stronger, grateful, and ready to embrace my passion again.
The screens have missed me… and I’m back, doing what I love most”.

Expressing deep appreciation to the public, she added:
“To my dearest fans, colleagues, family and supporters across the world, since the last two months ago that lost my son, I’ve been in pain and bitterness, but as I was in that state, the whole world made me know that they are all behind me. I saw the love you showed my, I felt your prayers, and your care. From the bottom of my heart, I want to say a very big thank you to everyone across the world, I appreciate it.

A gospel song says, ‘when it pleases us, you are the most high, and when it doesn’t please us, you are the most high God.’ I have surrendered all to God completely. Thank you so much, I appreciate.

Today, I rise again, not because the pain is gone, but because I know Ayomikun would want me to. My passion calls and it is time for me to return back to the screen where I belong to. To all filmmakers, directors, producers and my industry colleagues out there, I’m back stronger and wiser.”

Her return has generated a wave of emotional reactions from fans and colleagues, many offering prayers and support.
