A Kano State High Court No. 7 sitting in the Municipality has ordered the remand of a man, Aminu Ismail, who allegedly stabbed his father, Malam Dahiru Ahmad, to death during a heated argument in Unguwar Bai Village, Ajingi Local Government Area.

According to reports, the tragic incident happened after Ismail informed his father of his decision to marry a second wife. The older man, however, reportedly advised his son against it, citing the current economic hardship as a reason to shelve the plan.

Prosecuting counsel, Barrister Abba Lamido Sorondinki, told the court that the disagreement between the two quickly escalated into a confrontation, during which the accused allegedly stabbed his father multiple times in the chest with a knife, leading to his death.

Ismail has since been charged with culpable homicide, contrary to Section 221 of the Penal Code.

The presiding judge ordered his remand in custody pending further court proceedings.
