Drama As Bridesmaid Slaps Boyfriend After Unwanted Proposal At Lagos Wedding (Video)

A dramatic scene unfolded at a wedding reception in Ikeja, Lagos, on Saturday, November 1, 2025, after a bridesmaid slapped a man who attempted to propose to her in the middle of her speech.

In a video currently making the rounds on social media, the bridesmaid was seen delivering her speech at the event when the atmosphere suddenly changed. The DJ switched to a romantic tune, and the MC seemingly in on the surprise collected the microphone from her, suggesting she return to her seat.

Unbeknownst to her, her supposed boyfriend had gone down on one knee behind her, ring in hand, ready to propose in front of the crowd.

However, what was meant to be a romantic surprise quickly turned sour. The moment the bridesmaid turned and realized what was happening, she appeared visibly upset. Without a word, she slapped the man and walked away from the scene, leaving guests in shock.

In an attempt to defuse the tension and perhaps save face for the embarrassed man, some of his friends stepped forward and began spraying him with cash while trying to lighten the mood.
