A fresh video has surfaced online showing the Vice Chancellor of Godfrey Okoye University, Enugu, storming the female hostel at night to take attendance of students after previously warning them not to attend Davido’s “5ive” concert in the city.

The video, which has been making rounds on social media, captures the VC arriving at the female hostel, apparently ensuring that no student had sneaked out to attend the much-talked-about show.

Despite his presence, some students could still be heard in the background shouting “Davido!” and cheering playfully, while others were overheard saying, “This man mean business o.”

Recall that the management had earlier warned that any student caught attending the singer’s show would face suspension.

Following the restriction, some students reportedly organized their own “mini concert” within the campus, singing and dancing late into the night as a way to feel part of the excitement surrounding Davido’s event.

While the reason for the university’s hard stance remains unclear, the VC’s surprise night visit has created mixed reactions among netizens. Some commended him for enforcing discipline, while others criticized the action, calling it excessive and unnecessary for grown-up students in a university environment.

Davido’s Enugu concert is part of his nationwide “5ive” tour, which has already seen massive turnouts in Akwa Ibom and Adamawa states, with prominent political figures including Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Governor Umo Eno in attendance.
