Court Summons Popular Nigerian Rapper Over Intimidation Case
By Gideon Ayeni
An Abuja Chief Magistrate Court has summoned rapper Tochukwu Ojogwu, popularly known as Odumodublvck, over allegations of criminal intimidation leveled against him by Olayinka Onobun, Head of A&R at Chocolate City Music.
In a court summons dated November 3 and signed by Chief Magistrate Farida Ibrahim, Odumodublvck was ordered to appear before the court on November 6 to respond to the charges.
According to Onobun, who also manages rapper Blaqbonez, the rapper allegedly intimidated him through a series of posts shared on X (formerly Twitter).
Onobun’s lawyer, Pelumi Olajengbesi, in a petition to the court, called for a criminal summons to enable proper investigation and possible prosecution.
“The defendant has, by his actions, threatened the complainant with injury to his person in order to cause fear to the complainant,” Olajengbesi said. “It is clear that the cumulative acts of the defendant constitute criminal intimidation contrary to and punishable under Sections 396 and 397 of the Penal Code Act, Cap 532, Laws of the FCT, Nigeria, 2006.”
The legal move follows a string of heated online exchanges between Odumodublvck and Chocolate City affiliates. Just last week, the rapper clashed with Morin Oluwatobi, Blaqbonez’s manager, reigniting tensions between both camps.
Odumodublvck also took aim at MI Abaga, one of Chocolate City’s biggest names, accusing him of “cowardice” and “sitting on the fence” amid the controversy.
Earlier on Monday, Odumodublvck broke his silence, admitting that the past few weeks had been “heavy.” He claimed that he and his friends had been “painted in terrible lights,” insisting that what was a “deeply personal” matter had been twisted into something it wasn’t.
Odumodublvck, who is signed to Native Records and Def Jam, is best known for hits like ‘Declan Rice’ and ‘Blood on the Dance Floor.’
The case is expected to be heard in court on Wednesday, November 6.
