Nasboi Nigeria

Nigerian comedian and singer Nasboi has stirred intense debate online after describing Nigeria as a “disgraced country” while reacting to global conversations triggered by U.S. President Donald Trump’s comments on alleged Christian persecution in Africa.

The entertainer, who earlier questioned whether foreign intervention in Nigeria could be justified, wrote on X:
“I don’t even know how to feel about US invading… I feel excited, I don’t feel excited… If say my shameless Government fit handle all this crisis wetin for concern another man with my country.”

Shortly after, he posted a brief but explosive message:
“Disgraced country 💔.”

His remark immediately provoked outrage. One user fired back, accusing him of hypocrisy “This useless guy tour the 36 states without experiencing any hazard but opened his gutter mouth to badmouth his own country. Akuri barber.”

The altercation sparked broader reactions across X, dividing Nigerians between those who condemned Nasboi’s statement and those who supported him as expressing a painful truth.

@mariolexxx clapped back at the critic: “He tour 36 states by flight not by road. If they born him well make he tour it by road.”

Others saw Nasboi’s comments as disrespectful. @dele003 wrote: “He should be arrested immediately… he made all his money and fame in the same country he called a disgrace.”

Supporters, however, argued that his remark reflects lived reality.
@Kingkosec defended him: “That’s more reason he can make that conclusion because he has been to the 36+FCT and see how things are there.”

@Tele_com added: “Still, Nasboi’s frustration reflects what many feel. Two sides of the same coin.”

Several users insisted his position was not only justified but widely shared.
@realChrisIheme commented: “Failed or disgraced. Nigerian leaders are rotten.”

But some questioned whether touring under security protection gives a full view of citizens’ experiences. @AuroraOluchi argued: “He went around with security.”

Others warned against silencing criticism. @laoban_01 wrote: “Person talk truth, you hold am neck.”

A more pointed reaction from @teslimdior read: “Because @iamnasboi was not a victim… means he shouldn’t say the truth until he got kidnapped?”

On the opposite side, some emphasized responsibility. @Achiever01_ urged: “As a public figure you need to do better… Stop badmouthing your country.”

Still, many dismissed the criticism entirely.
@RixhardoX countered: “Safely where… e no reach no mean say it’s safe.”

Others reacted with sarcasm or exasperation. @Nazhdgurl wrote simply: “Omoh.”

And in a twist, @Ohamadike_jnr shifted the ridicule: “Your mumu don reach Instablog hand. You’re a big disgrace to this failed country.”

Some tried to remain neutral.
@Mobolaji05 said: “Both of them are right btw.”

For users like *@Letmebe555, there was no need for debate: *“Is Nigeria not a failed state?”

The clash adds to ongoing tensions as Nigerians continue dissecting Trump’s controversial claims and the country’s internal challenges. As at press time, neither Nasboi nor government officials had issued further comment.
