First Lady Aisha Buhari has directed all her staff to proceed on indefinite leave bringing a twist to officially denied reports that the 50-year old former beauty entrepreneur is pregnant.

The directive to go on indefinite leave was contained in a statement signed by Dr. Mohammed Kamal, Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Office of the First Lady on Health and Development Partners according to Daily Trust.

Kamal stated that official engagements and work will, however, continue virtually.

“This serves to inform all staff that the office of the First Lady will be closed for the upcoming festive period of Christmas and New Year. To this end, all staff are requested to proceed on leave, until further notice.

“Please note that official engagements and work can also continue virtually as it was done previously.

“Her Excellency appreciates and thank all staff for their commitment and hard work and wish all a happy festive period ahead,” the official directive stated.

The directive to go on Indefinite leave is coming amid rumours that the First Lady is pregnant.

After returning from a trip to Turkey with her husband, pictures of the First Lady went viral and attracted different comments.

But in an interview with BBC Pidgin conducted before the disclosure of the indefinite leave, a spokesman for the First Lady denied the rumour about Aisha Buhari being pregnant

GreenWhiteGreen GWG reported the First Lady’s spokesman, Sulaiman Haruna had firmly ruled out the reports that Aisha Buhari was pregnant in an interview with BBC on Tuesday.

“I can tell you 100 percent that our First Lady is perfectly hale hearty and she’s not ill or pregnant as some people report,” he said in ruling out the reports about Aisha Buhari who is 50 as being pregnant.

“Some of these reports are just from mischief makers who don’t mean well.

“You know nowadays, people can manipulate pictures,” he added.
