Bayelsa: Supporters Caution APC Candidate Against Debating PDP Rival
By Asolo Eyedoude
A group known as the Timipre Sylva Support Organization, TSO has called on the APC governorship candidate, Chief David Lyon, not to gamble the hope and trust of Bayelsans in any form of political debate with the governorship candidate of the PDP handpicked by Governor Dickson.
Rather, they said such energy should be expended on taking a comprehensive inventory of the damage Governor Dickson’s eight years have done to Bayelsa and the brotherhood of the Ijaw Ethnic Nationality.
In a statement signed by its Director General, Comrade Wilfred Frank Ogbotobo, admits that though debates are essential ingredients that impact positively to grow the values and democratic culture, however, debating with Dickson’s handpicked candidates is a colossal waste that cannot add value to Bayelsa politics.
The statement noted clearly that, the governorship ambition of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP candidate, Senator Douye Diri’s was fast losing steam and hence the desperate quest for oxygen through a remotely guided debate with Lyon.
According to the group, they would rather prefer that Governor Dickson’s works do the debate for Senator Diri.
The Timipre Sylva Support Organization, urged Chief Lyon to therefore concentrate on exploiting the privilege of leadership to reset the impoverished Bayelsa, and make it the proud home of the Ijaw.
