Wolves and Arsenal battled out at the Molineux on Friday as both teams eye a top four finish this season. The battle for the two teams followed recent slip ups from Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur that gave teams below the latitude for a fighting chance in the top four.

Indeed, Arsenal ahead of the match were looking to move a point within 4th placed West Ham with a win. And they sure did.

Gabriel got the game winner for the Gunners with a first half strike from a resulting corner that was not properly taken care of by the Wolves defence. It was a game of much drama as Arsenal youngster Gabriel Martinelli was shown two yellow cards in the space of five seconds. That controversial decision by the referee gave the hosts an edge in the game.

The Wolves attack piled pressure on the Arsenal defence but could not find the finishing touch. The Gunners got a much needed win as they go level on points with Manchester United who now drop to 6th place behind them.

2016 was the last time Arsenal made a Champions League appearance and they have made a top four finish their ultimate priority. They are currently out of all the domestic competitions and now have full focus on the Premier League and a Champions League qualification.
