De Gea Fears Manchester United May Be Under A Curse
Manchester United may be under a curse, the team’s number one goalkeeper, David de Gea has said in frustration over the club’s failure to live up to its capacity.
Noting the club’s failure to compete for glory despite the abundance of talents, de Gea in frustration said that the team may be suffering a curse.
Manchester United with the likes of Pogba, Cristiano Ronaldo and many more has underperformed domestically and is now out of contention for the league title. The team’s best hope is to finish in the top four and that is also a struggle.
GreenWhiteGreen GWG reports that Manchester United were thrown out of the Carabao Cup by Middlesbrough and were earlier in February thrown out of the FA Cup during a penalty shoot-out.
Manchester United’s only hope for silverware in the current season is the Champion’s League and the team is drawn to face Atletico Madrid later in February.
De Gea who won trophies earlier on with Manchester United in an interview with El Pais, said:
“I think someone has put a curse on us or something,” he told El Pais. “The truth is I don’t know what’s going on, I really don’t.
“People always ask me and we talk about it as team-mates and we just say ‘we don’t know what’s happening’.
“We should have competed for more trophies, bigger titles, but I just don’t know why this team doesn’t function,” De Gea said in implying a curse as the cause of the failures of Manchester United.
