Video Of Obiano Wearing Shorts, Cooling Down With Water In EFCC Custody Emerges
A video of the immediate past governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano sipping water in the course of his ongoing interrogation in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has emerged.
GreenWhiteGreen GWG reports that Obiano who had been placed on a watch list by the EFCC was picked up hours after he handed over power to his successor, Prof. Charles Soludo while making plans to board a plane to the United States last Thursday.
His arrest also came hours after his wife was slapped by Bianca Ojukwu at the inauguration of the new governor.
Though he was arrested in Lagos, the interrogation of the former governor is going on in Abuja. His movement from Lagos to Abuja had spurned the false narrative that he had been released, an assertion that was debunked on Friday morning by the EFCC.
EFCC officials have also been quick to delink the commission from the controversies surrounding the former First Lady, Ebele Obiano after she was given a slap by Bianca Ojukwu. The commission has said that it has nothing to do with her clearly debunking insinuations that Obiano and his wife were being held together in the custody of the EFCC.
It is not known how the video leaked out to the public space and it is bound to further embarrass the image of the governor after last Thursday’s slapping incident.
