Lasun Dumps APC After Osun Primary Loss
Rep Lasun Yusuff, the immediate past Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives, on Friday dumped his membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the party’s National Convention on Saturday.
Yusuff submitted his resignation letter at the APC Secretariat in Osogbo, while the party’s leadership in state were in Abuja for the convention.
However, Mr Kola Olabisi, the Media Consultan to APC Chairman in Osun, confirmed the development in a telephone interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
Olabisi said that Yusuff dropped his resignation letter at the party Secretariat in Osogbo.
According to him, myself and other executive memberss of the party are currently in Abuja for the party’s National Convention holding on Saturday.
“The information of Yusuff’s resignation has been communicated to us,” Olabisi said in admitting that the former deputy speaker had left the party.
NAN recalls that Yusuff contested the APC Governorship election primary against Gov. Gboyega Oyetola on Feb. 19 and lost.
During the direct primary won by Governor Gboyega Oyetola, Yusuff scored 460 votes, while, Alhaji Moshood Adeoti, the preferred candidate of the Minister of Interior and former Governor in Osun, Rauf Aregbesola, scored 12,921
