COZA: Fatoyinbo Gushes In Praise Of Wife, Says He Was Used As Scapegoat

Senior pastor of the COZA, Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo has praised his wife for standing by him over the rape allegation levelled against him as he on Thursday said he was used as a scapegoat in an attack against the Church of God.

Reacting to his victory in the civil suit filed against him by Busola Dakolo, Fatoyinbo also prayed for healing for those who he said genuine victims of rape and all those who were so falsely accused.

Fatoyinbo had been accused by Ms. Dakolo of raping her as a teenager. Her accusation was followed by accusations by other women who also accused Fatoyinbo of similar deeds.

The High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Court 12, sitting in Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory yesterday dismissed the rape allegation case filed by Busola Dakolo and exonerated the accused, Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo, founder of the Abuja-based Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA).

Ruling on the civil action brought by Dakolo, the judge, Hon. Justice O.A Musa, the court also fined the plaintiff, Busola, the cost of N1,000,000 (One Million Naira) and held that the matter amounted to injustice, sentimental, empty and an abuse of judicial process, adding that it could have been ten times more but that it was lenient considering the fact that some victims with legitimate claims might approach the court in the future.

Reacting to the ruling, Pastor Fatoyinbo, through his Senior Executive Assistant, Pastor Ademola Adetuberu, dedicated the victory to the Church of Christ and the gospel which the enemy sought to destruct and destroy.

According to the press statement signed by Pastor Ademola, “The victory is of the Lord.  We dedicate it to those who stand by us. The victory belongs to God not to me or COZA. We will not share in His glory. The enemies are after the Church and not after me per se.

“They only used me as a scapegoat to launch the attacks. We know that faithful is He who has called us. I salute the courage and the support of my beautiful and godly wife, my lovely children,  members of COZA family and those who stand by us.

“May God be praised in your life. I bear no grudge against those who were used by the adversary of the Church but instead, I pray for them that we should come together to fight the common enemies of the Church.  My soul goes to men who are wrongly accused and women who are or have been abused. May God heal the wounds of everyone of us in Jesus Name”, he prayed.
